I was behind one at the lights the other day, he didn't leave too quickly and I had to be somewhere so I pulled out past him, he saw me doing that and put his foot down, by which time I was already en route. Despite revving the ass out of it I was already leaving him. I've not posted that before as I wouldn't believe it either

Don't know whose face was funnier, his or his birds.

i have won and lost to a few CTR in my old 2.0 16v nova.

Fail to see a 130 whatever bhp corsa beat one considering my 1.6 16v nova used to beat c20xe corsas!

I personally think your bull shitting!

Ps... was the CTR driver actually racing? just because you went past him at 80mph on the motorway doesnt mean:-

A) You were racing
B) You beat him

Must have been a poor driver then!

Seriously... how the hell would a 130bhp corsa beat a CTR????

Indeed.

I've no idea how, probably some obvious reasons like the he gets a good launch, the Corsa has a short box, and the Civic driver can't drive.

Pretty much what happens in every race in which people win stuff and then there's a barrage of people accusing them of lying. Its not all about power.

I refer you to this thread, except last night was a straight road from a standing start, which factors out driver ability somewhat although not completely.

not really read it, but my cars quick, however put me on a 1/4 mile and its slow..... put it on a bendy road and its quicker..... depends on the drivers style, how he can launch etc etc! i can keep up/beat many cars on the road, put them on the 1/4 mile with me and id more than likely get hammered!

CTR's will beat the majority of other cars on the market these days IF you know how to drive them. Eg keep them in the VTEC zone! Most people can't drive them and give them a bad name

the VTEC zone, WTF? you do chat some shit. they are average at best these days. and the rumours that the new Civic Type R will have the exact same engine doesnt sound good. will lag far behind the current batch of hot hatches in terms of road performance

Yes, the VTEC zone, aka the power band. Keep it in VTEC and beat a lot, keep it out of VTEC and drive it like a diesel then you're fucked.
