Help Please.

Im currently at work and all our pc's are networked. However I got a new pc and its all plugged in including the network cable but I cant seem to view the network. With it being a new pc is there anything I need to do first off so i can view the network??? i dont seem to get any help from my work.

Probably not setup on the correct domain.

Right click on "my computer" > "properties" > "Computer Name" tab > "Change" button

Then set the correct domain name like your original one or ask the guy next to you to see what his is or something

I did that, and then went back in to view network and I still cant see anybody. We just have lots of different databases in different peoples computers .

Have you tried just clicking "entire network"

you will have to have administrator privileges to join the domain you wish to, especially if you are working with AD, Serv2003

Yeh still no joy. I thought as I have the network cable in and is connected to the hub. The thing is i can still print to other printers which are only connected by network not to my compter.

Have you clicked "Microsoft Windows network"

Yep. I dont understand why im having problems with it as i never had before it just worked straight away when i plugged the network cable in.
