ive just finished fitting my dbilas inlet and tried to start my engine. on doing so the revs kept on increasing without the accelerator being pressed and also the engine was whistling really loud. anyone got any ideas?

is it just an air leak or is it accelerator cable?

definately sounds like an air leak mate. did you replace the gasket when you fitted it?
Also since you mention the throttle cable how did you mount the linkage?

i dint get a new gasket with it m8 ill tighten everything up 2moz m8 and see wot happens. wot do u mean by how did i mount the linkage?

sounds like the throttle is getting stuck , hats not catching is it .
or could be doing what mine did , take of the middle of the top three pipes ( to do with fueling ) run it for a minute and see if it calmes down , then replace the pipe .
mine kept revving then cut out , my mate did the above then it was fine . failing this ask dave a , he is the man in the know as regards these things

well when i was fitting mine I had to modify the bracket slightly to make it fit because a throttle bracket wasn't included in the kit. Made my throttle slightly stiffer. still returned ok though

Air leak, change the 42 p gasket on the throttle body, and the £3 quid gasket between upper and lower manifolds
