right, my car really doesnt like goin into 1st and 2nd, sometimes refuses full stop. its a 1.2 8v, n i was under the impression it mite b the linkage, but was unsure wether it would be the bit at the back of the engine bay, or the bit next to the gearstick. also to fix this would i have to jack the car up? any help much appreciated

Does it not changing down into first from 2nd/3rd? If so it's designed to be like that

when im at a stanstil it acts like it goes in 1st but actually goes into third, have to get the car movin before it will go into first. goes in alright when slowing down, most of the time.

have a look at linkage down by the gearbox itself sound like its come loose and needs re-adjusyting
