thats what I was going to say. and they arent unreliable, if they get serviced regularly and well looked after they are fine. people expect a 10+ year old car to run without problems, its not going to happen.

Mines a C16XE and not had a problem with it, ok it leaks a bit of oil from the rocker gasket but that's it, over 100k miles, get's used daily on motorways - no problems here

That's cursed it no doubt

Also if you look after your car, maintain it well then problems shouldnt just happen. And also your car last longer
I service mine every year even if it has covered a low amount of miles and also when i service mine i DO change items such at the fuel filter, etc - not like alot of garages.

I feel sorry for the ones that have to take it to a big vauxhall dealership like lookers/bramalls etc
they dont give a shit about customers or thier cars
cant belive they charge the likes of £83 for a tech 2 check!
At our garage we normally dont charge for the tech 2 check unless someone comes in to find out whats wrong with the car then go somewhere else, or do it themselves
then it will be an hours labour £45
bigger dealers only look at profit
thats why we are top of most customer care lists in the country!
