right got car jacked up in mates garage and tryin to get alternator off got can get to the bolts but how the feck to u loosen the fan belt as aint got me haynes manul with me and not quite sure how to do it 
any help is appreciated cheers nath

Does it have a small thin V belt or a thick multi ribbed style one?

use a 15mm spanner to loosen the tension on the tensioner roller. pull it towards you.
