Time for another post about Powerflow. I love these, such mixed opinions.

Found this old post by Vibrio and read it through: http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=113845 , But didn't want to dig that up.

What sort of prices have people been quoted for a CAT back system? I just got a quote of £340! . I went down to see them after talking to Jamesnova and Muppetsport about theirs. They have paid a lot less.

Just to say, I went to the Totton/Southampton Centre. Don't know if anyone has been here? I also asked about the horror stories and the rust that happens to people, he said that was down to not using the right grade metal, something Fad mentioned to me before. I was watching him build the system on a old BMW 2002, which was interesting.

Change of URL, from that old thread...

http://alcoholic.custard.org/exhaust/

And nope, didn't get a penny back from either the garage (Top Gear, in Burnley, who kept robotically forwarding any complaints straight to Powerflow, saying they weren't responsible). Trading Standards did all they could, but obviously don't have the legal-clout to enforce anything, and eventually suggested taking Top Gear to the Small Claims Court. Unfortunately, at the time, I was a bit short of money, so couldn't afford to open a case (and risk getting a 90-year-old anti-car JP who was of the opinion that an exhaust is an exhaust).

My opinion? Avoid Powerflow, like the plague...

Oh, and the exhaust was £450, but that was sometime back in 2001...

Blue Flame, yes, now that's a company I would trust to make a decent long-lasting exhaust...

Yes, but if I managed to get unlucky, and get a Justice of the Peace who was of the opinion that an exhaust is just an exhaust, no matter what condition, I'd have been liable to pay all of Top Gear's court-fees aswell (assuming they had turned up to defend)...
