is it possible to repair or weld a new section in? any help would be much appreciated its the bottom section in the pic - crossmember?

Yes it would need a new front panel and slam panel. What is the rest of the car like though?

the rest of the car is solid...... i hope! this is just putting my plans on hold, where would i get the bits? how easy a job? thank you very much for the help. oh p.s is the slam panel the bit with all the rust at the bottom?

nope the bit at the bottom is your front bottom cross member and they are not cheap to buy but they can be repaired quite easily if you are good with a welder

if not get someone to do it! it keeps the front of the square some of your major mounts are on here so needs to be pucker!

crossmember is £44 +vat and the front upper panel is £30+vat as its been said you need to know what you doing removing the old cross member as the front end may spring apart slightlyif your not carefull.

thats brilliant cheers for the help i can weld a little lol but might take it somewhere to get done, what would you use to stop it springing out? the only reason its so rusty as its been sitting in my drive for a year! just getting round to fix it and dont want it to fall apart at the front
