Did your tv come with a 12v adaptor? If so you could hardwire it to the back of the fag lighter. You could also do this with the power invertor. Alternatively you could wire them to the yellow cable at the back of your head unit. (Block connect or solder) and if your still having difficulty...then buy a dual fag lighter adaptor and plug them in there.
Unsure about how to overcome tthe battery prob, as mine runs down fast aswell so i just leave the engine on. However i would recommend a 2nd battery. Yellow top p'haps?

Oh yeah and you should have red/yellow/white holes at the back of the tv so just simply plug av cables in there. Then simply select "AV" on your remote control

I got an Xbox this is how I did it:
Inverter is wired directly to the battery. It has a switch on it and a fuse. The negative cable is bolted onto the chassis and a self tapper .
My monitor is also wired direct to the battery, with a fuse on it and the ignition live goes to the ignition live.
Therefore the tv is off when the car key is out of the ingition.
XBOX is plugged in, 3 wires come from the connector, red, yellow and white. Red and white go to an AUX- IN adapter to my headunit for audio, and then yellow is then connected to my monitor. (note my headunit and screen are seperate)
THe battery will run flat quickly if you aint got the engine running coz your running the Inverter, PS2, Screen, Headunit, Amp etc etc. The same effect will happen regardless of how many batteries you have, they will all run flat eventually if there is no alternater running to chatrge them up.
