Right i have had this with my 1.2 8v problem for some time now and it is really starting to pee me off.
First one is when i start the car from cold it starts fine but seems to struggle for a minute.
The other one is when you are driving along and you come off the accelerator and let the revs coast down when they hit around 1,500 - 2,000rpm the car seems to jolt forward for no reason.
There is no em light so i dont want to put tech 2 on it incase it does not show anything up therefore waste £40.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

sounds like it.
although try a new coolant temp sensor first as its around 14 quid from vaux and can also foul up your cold starts

take the idle control valve out and give it a good clean. It's piss easy to do on that engine.

depends on car age and engine model but if you've got a distributor get it checked look back at my post theres one somewhere with loads of info about this as i just had roughly same problem. i needed new distribtor just got a scrap one for £30.
