I have USB but not USB 2.0 which I could do with for my iPod.

How do I go about getting it?

Usb 2.0 pci card, I would personally go to ebay, shouldn't cost more than about a tenner.

Usb 1.0 is something like 12mb/s and 2.0 is 480mb/s.
Quite a bit faster.

Fastest firewire is 800mb/s but as above, i'd check which connections your ipod has as the dropped it.

Its the brand new ones they dropped firewire on.

Yes, they have. If you plug them in with an iPod Firewire cable, it comes up with a "Firewire not supported" error message.
