thought id register and show my car, seeing this is the best corsa site ive found.
you seem a good lot that seem to know what you're talking about (dont talk chav shoot and slate each other lol)

bought my first car in september 2005, after 2 months of searching and a few major letdowns.
it was a 1997 vauxhall corsa 1.2 8V from an 18yo girl in louth. haggled the price down considerably due to the fair condition of the car (not showroom condition after 75k miles, im too picky lol).

glad i bought it, because its given me a nice project. it certainly wasn't immaculate to be honest, but i was extremely determined to make it a mint looking and running car.
my action plan was, restoration and preservation before any modification as such. I wanted to achieve it with minimal cost, all with my own skills- whilst learning new ones in the process.

here's some pics of my efforts so far..

engine bay (spent hours and hour on that, i clean it more than the bodywork lol)

few more shots to show off the details:

list of things i've done to it since i got it 3 months ago:

september
washed and waxed bodywork
shampooed and hoovered all carpets, seats, roof lining etc
jet washed entire engine bay with gunk
serviced throttle intake
cleaned and checked plugs/ leads
painted battey tray and engine mounts in hammerite
drilled airbox

october/ november
stripped, cleaned, painted both lower sills + jacking points with hammerite and waxoyl
cleaned entire underbody and added underseal in preparation for winter
full oil and filter flush and change
flushed a bottle of red-X through the tank and throttle intake
polished the bodywork once again,, and treated all plastic trim
fitted new 650 amp battery (from the 250 amp original)
installed CB radio transmitter

december..
fitted genuine GSi rear boot spoiler
full engine cooling system flush and change
reconditioned the radiator and fan
cleaned, painted and waxoyled relevant engine bay areas once again

thanks for looking, prob nothing special tho lol
feel free to add your comments and suggestions

A clean lightly modified car looks better than a shitty fully modded one. You're doing well, keep it up.

Take a look at Viper-X's garage for a nice example of a corsa in that colour too

thanks mate, you're sound

future plans,, thinking of some smoked headlight clusters and side repeaters to set it off

also in the process of making my own induction kit, because i want to experiment and make something different to a normal chav one
basically using an ITG '45 carb sock filter,, and attatching it to the plastic top hat.
i drew some CAD plans up on the computer,, and ive been cutting them out of plastic and metal on a router machine.

could be shoot, but i'll learn something for little cost- we'll see

Welcome mate, I've had a good year or so with my corsa doing what you're doing, it feels good to look after it properly and do all the work yourself!

Well done
