could be shoot, but i'll learn something for little cost- we'll see

finished milling all the parts out for this now, test fits like a glove- im quite impressed with myself
i'll post pics and details later no doubt..

home-brew mods are the future- you learn so much, have something to your exact spec,, and nobody else has one the same
..and its cheeeap

i drilled 8 10mm holes in my airbox whilst i was cleaning it. loved the sound, good first mod.
got offered a pipercross filter from a mate- i was a bit reluctant, so i tried before i buyed.
fitted it and drove around a bit, sounded too quiet for my liking- prob due to the restrictive corrugated air pipe.

whilst i was taking it off, i wondered,, what does it sound like with no airbox on??
drove it up and down my road once or twice, loved the induction sound- but quickly stopped to avoid shoot in my cylinders lol

so i came up with the idea of making my own 'induction kit'..
i wanted something with minimal restriction, good induction noise, unique and low cost.
a pair of '45 carb filter socks caught my eye at £15 a set, so thought 'hey why not??'
then i needed a way of securely joining the sock to the throat of the plastic throttle body tophat.
took some measurements with a micrometer and drew some plans on the back of a fag packet like.

seeing as im in my last year of studying my a-leves, i had access to the technology classrooms and relevant materials/ machines
..and i was fucking bored dossing about coming up to christmas
drew my plans up on a CAD program and sent the design through to the automated router and milling machine..

making a prototype of the joining flanges out of MDF

so far, i've got both flanges and washers to make the thing- just have to bond them together securely with epoxy resin or similar.. and route a cold air feed or i'll have bad flat spots

soz for raving on a bit, just thought id show you my idea
comments and questions appreciated
