can you get central locking and upgrade to remote locking from there?

yes you can but it would be easier just to go straight to remote central locking

Most decent aftermarket kits are reliable and simple, being self-explanitory to fit 
A good make to go for is MES, since they're swiss made and (apparently) very good. Havnt gone wrong for me anyway
