Whats the best way to undo the big nut that holds the top of the shocker on?

Shock it with a windy gun or use an offset head spanner on the larger bolt while holding the inner one with a socket.

You need to hold the damper shaft while you undo the nut.

Am I likely to be able to do it with a spanner or will it be tight on? A friend got it off 2 weeks ago with the windy gun but he aint around now!
