How many of you do this? I do it when i cant be arsed to reach for the gear stick. Changing up is easy down is not so easy, but can do it sometimes. It amuses me

Drove my mates polo home for him when his clutch cable snapped. he didnt think it was possible, 6 miles later i'm parked in his drive

my gearbox is a bit fragile so that would definatly fook it up, can do left foot breaking now though

How do you do it anyway? Never really attempted it for fear of sounding like a goon crunching the gears .

Setting off on anything but uphill, and going 1st 2nd 3rd..... etc.... is easy, but going the other way through the gears can take a couple of goes...

if you get it right it wont make any difference, just doing the job of the synchromesh

the revs yesh, you dont need to force it, it will slip in easily so you wont crunch it if it dont go in easily then you know its not right, usually around 3k

sometimes, not purposely, I take it out of gear without depressing the clutch.

but i've never put a gear in without the clutch depressed.

I experienced this a few years ago when my mate was driving my SXi, was scary. It jolts forward though.
