surely the easiest solution would be to USE the clutch, it was placed there for a reason, ie: to stop fucking up your gearbox and causing more wear than usual

not fucking up the gear box, like i said earlier if you time it right your doing nothing more or less than what the synchromesh does

Totally different on bikes, you can do it at any speed at any revs going up the gears, very dangerous going down the gears.

agree there. I often just kick the bike up the gears without a clutch but always use it comin back down the box

my old nova was ace doing it

used to not botrher with clutch after a few weeks in it

then it was stolen

I can pop mine through the gears really easily with no clutch, doesn't seem to mind... Wonder if my F20 will be the same?

Not really, after a while it probably will but regular gearboxes seem to be quite resistant to chipping the cogs up. If you did it with a performance gearbox with straight cut gears you would end up chipping teeth off of the cogs....

My curtousy car loved clutchless changes - especially when I got it wrong

I wouldn't even dare on the 106 gti - those gear boxes are so fragile, it'll shatter into peices.

I have to agree with steve, I do it when I can't be annoyed moving my foot.
Doesn't do any damage and I don't know why people are finding it so hard to grasp
