Help! My corsa has developed a noise which can only really be described as hissing from the engine when you put your foot down. Also, it's flat as f__k.

Does anyone know what it could be and how much to fix?

air leak......

are all the vacum hoses ok etc?

Mr Kindness, please forgive but i know very little about the workings of an engine. Wouldn't know where to look to be totally honest.

All i know is that when i accelerate, there's a hissing noise from the engine, and the car is struggling to pick up speed. I put my foot down to the floor and nothing happens.

Seen on other websites mentioning it could be the power steering but i'm pretty sure it's not that.

sounds like an air leak on the inlet system.

I had tissssssssssss sort of noise in my corsa never knew what it was.

I pretended I had a turbo

Yeah, i tried this - pretending it was a turbo - and then remembered that reaching 70mph were difficult.
