Has anyone else with a sport thats got air con hear an anoying noise coming from the air conditioning unit.it sounds like a hissing with a little rattle (not unlike a rattle snake,seriously) ,and comes and goes randomly. its annoyin the shite out of me 
its definately the air conditioner cos when i turn it on the sound goes away
does anyone know whats up?

If you use it loads it may go away, if not the clutch on it will need to be cleaned/replaced.
Best off using your aircon at least once a month to prevent it happening.
Mine squeaked when i bought it and they cleaned it, was sqeaking before the heatwave but isn't any more.

You are ment to use your aircon for at least 5 minutes on cold setting and full heat
