got a 1.2 8v corsa b, 4 speed !! lol and needless to say, its possible to get smoked by the milkman on his rounds lmao, its seriously slow, so in a couple of month maybe i want to put a 1.4 16v in with a 5 speed box, just wondering if any of you can do this cheap (as it isnt the hardest engine conversion ever ) (not going any bigger because hopefully early next year ill be getting a focus, and working my balls off to save enough monet to make it into a beast. lol

cheers!

my corsa was originally a 4 speed... i stuck an f10 5 speed into it....\

then later i stuck a c16xe in....

if your handy with a spanner its a simple enough conversion...

But what would be the point in changing it to a 5 speed if he's only keeping it a year as 4th is top gear anyway and 5th is an overdrive gear that just sounds a bit smoother?

when i changed mine it made the car alot more driveable... for long journeys and the motorway... no more screaming engine...

however the power out of the 1.2 unit is just stupid... so that engine had to go... its now in the process of being made into a coffe table

4 speeds really do suck, i used to get pissed off tellin my mate to slow down in his 1.2 8v cause my 4 speed 1.2 couldnt keep up the piece of shit.

Had to get rid of the car once some old granny took over me in her micra, really pissed me off.

Sold it and got a 1.4 16v sri and was amazed at the speed lol, worn off now need sommet faster :/

Dont go for a 1.4! its not worth the hassle! Get a 1.6 or 2.0 at the least!

If your car is in good condition I would sell and buy a gsior sri, there not that much £££ now and insurance shouldnt be that bad if you have some no claims

mate if your 19, you could stick a 1.6 16v in for insurable costs...

i had (and have still got its for sale on here) a 1.2 8v 4 speed... embarrassing i know!! but i put a 1.4 16v in, total cost of about 500 all in all, new clutch, cambelt and tensioners, etc etc.... and an extra 40quid insurance at 18, now 19 got a Saxo VTR, and its cheaper insurance than my corsa was when i was 18...
hope thats some help
