Nasher, they're taking the mick lol.
SU just has a higher ron value.
I must admit my car runs slightly smoother, but no power gains lol.
And no it won't mess the engine up if you were to use Normal UL after using SUL for a while.
Are willing to pay the extra pennies just to have the engine run that little bit smoother?

My car just runs a bit smoother now that i use Shell Optimax, although as soon as i put any normal unleaded in i can notice the difference in the drive as the car tends to feel more chuggy and a little less responsive, no power gains though, probably isnt actually much different to normal unleaded other than a bit cleaner perhaps..

the higher RON figure creates a cleaner detonation in the cylinders, and its easy to see better MPG when using 98 over 95.

ultimate and optiplop will clean the inside of the engine of deposits when used over time. the extra power you get is from removeing this crap.

sainsburgh petrol (BP) has SUL only 1p more than UL so I used SUL because it's a better combuster

^ Lucky, ron97 fuel cost quite a bit more than normal 95 here!
I'm might have a look round to see prices for 97 if it's gonna yeild better mpg.

on high power turbo engines, you will get a noticable increase using 98 over 97/95, as soon as you use it.
