I rember my old 2 litre when it was standard hit a brick wall at 130 even though it had the gearing to go faster! Roughly 70bhp more than a 1.4!!

When I changed the dial faces on my car, I also took one of these pictures! Car at the time was a 1.5TD (later a 2.1 16v on TS's) but I just put the needles on to show it off the clock at 4500rpm!

Suspect picture that is! No blur and no picture of the road!

This is more convincing!

haha, well ill let you think what you want, i know the circumstances in which that pic was taken, also i have a rather good digi cam, id be pissed off if it blured that! (car is a 1.6 16v sport with 140bhp and raised limiter to 7200rpm)

Where did you get that info from, because Haynes indicates that the F13 and F15 differ in 2nd gear and final drives

From vauxhall literature but im sceptical theres that many choices.

Will be quite a few though possibly a choice of 4 different final drive ratios and 4 sets of diffferent 1st to 5ths, making quite a few variations possible.
Theres certainly a lot more differences than just 2nd gear. And in my experience i would agree with the above that reverse is always the same!

I've got a road angel that tells me my GPS speed and you can see speedo getting less and less accurate faster you go
Driving home the other night and the speedo was les accurate at the top and then fine again as it came down the side, there was only 1 or 2 kph difference at 170/180.
