just too show how much the corsa speedos are out, near my house we have one of those flashing signs which tells you too slow down over 30 mph.
in my corsa it didnt flash unless you were doing 40 mph, in my audi a4 it flashes up wheh the speedo reads 33 mph, now go figure, the audi one overreads as it has too by law. multiply that for higher speeds and i recon when my a4 reads 70 the corsa would be more like 90.

Not all corsas speedos are out.

Mine was fine. Car topped out at 112mph. Exactly what it says on the tin

All speedo's go out! it's to do with tyres expanding as you go faster. It could of been out originally i.e. when your doing 40 your only doing 36... or it could be accurate originally when your doing 40 your doing 40... but get to speeds like 100 and your tyres will expand equalling some inacuracy.

I've got a road angel that tells me my GPS speed and you can see speedo getting less and less accurate faster you go

isnt the f13 box limited to 119 anyway, because i hit te limiter in my 1.4 16v, was running 136bhp though

i got about 118 out of my 1.4 16v. but that took me a while to get to lol.

dunno how accurate the speedo is tho. might have only been 100mph lol

Sorry to stand out alone here, but my mates 1.4 16v corsa sport (Brocade yellow one put froward for Doncaster)was doing 120mph....whether the speedo was out a wee bit or not, i can defo vouch that it was hitting those speeds.
Also my old Nova sri 1.4 8v did 132mph flat out.

the fucking gear box wont do thoses speeds, the f13 is limited to 119 and the f15 to 124 i belive

Yip yellow brocade does have a F15 box.
The nova wasnt standard maybe i should have said that...cams and a bored out bottom end with bigger pistons.

Intresting, could this be the reason that when aproaching top speed in the Nova with the 1.6 16v with F13 it is near the limiter?

I have never pushed it right to the top speed as I am far more sensible now

but once when I was giving a Zetec-S a arse whooping on a private track in my garden I happened to glance at the rev counter and it was just over 6k rpm and I'm sure my GSi never got anywhere near 6k rpm at top whack.

FPMSL even my Nova does'nt read much over 125 when nearly flat out
