I was coming up the slip road today and my 1 month old carbon fibre bonnet flipped up and smashed my windscreen and has dinted part of my roof.
I'm so gutted, the car is booked to go into the bodyshop on monday as well.
The carbon fibre bonnet has scuff marks all over it and has split in places, i know that will cost a fortune to repair!
How hard is it to get dints out of the roof. Its just after where the windscreen ends.
do i give up?

wont cost much to repair the bonnet - just needs a new clear coat of gel coat - find a marine/yacht repairs shop - they'll do it - £50 ish

the carbon pattern will be knackered tho. will just have to spray it. yeah its right on the edge where it has dinted. the bonnet must have not latched correctly

Hmmm just its quite unlikely for the catch to come lose itself unless 1 its not closed properly or 2 the carbon bonnets faulty ie the catch on it - however I dont know nothing about it really so wouldnt like to say........

I think you will do well to get a dent out the roof IMO

A small dent in the roof is that gonna weekenit or anything

I know dents can be pulled out as seen it done!

So they can pull it out as much as they can and the filler and smooth!

Wont be much extra on the bill you were facing anyway!

yeh it can do damage, especially when you have a 2.0 16v under the bonnet! just lucky it was a carbon fibre bonnet otherwise i imagine the damage would have been worse!

Bad luck mate!

When I bought my carbon bonnet I was told to use bonnet pins because the light weight of the bonnet is not enough to keep it shut when driving fast!
