Over the last couple of days, my cars starter motor etc has sounded weak, and starting the bugger has proved a difficult task, but im concerned that I dont know whats causing this, as even after a reasonably long journey - 40 miles on a bypass - there is no improvement... which leads me to think that my alternator isnt working properly...
I dont want to replace the wrong thing incase i replace something that's perfectly fine?
Any ideas?
Cheers

how old is your battery?
When your engine is on, turn your headlights on in the dark, and rev the engine. If the headlights get brighter as you rev the engine, your alternator is fine

pop into your local motor spares shop, they should be able to test both the alternator and battery for you
