Do remember you will loose all contacts and anything stored on the PHONE's memory when you do format. To do a complete and utter Hardware Format, just do this.

Whilst phone is fully charged up or with a good charge (not just 1 bar). Turn the phone off.

Hold down the button number 3 + * + the Call Button

I use a pinkie on 3, index on * and middle on call button technique

Then whilst you have all the buttons pressed and held. Use your other hand to press the power button. Press and hold power button untill you see FORMATTING on the phone's screen.

You can then let go and give it a few minutes and bob's your favourite uncle.

Dont know what link you got above. But have a look through F Secure and you might find something that will prevent a FORMAT like this. -> ftp://ftp.europe.f-secure.com/anti-virus/tools/f-cabir.sis
