plumb it into the the pipe which goes from teh inlet manifold too the fuel pump. use the t-piece in that pipe. right at the back of the engine.

The one to the fuel pump on a mechnical diesel turbo is the boost compensation pipe. The DV is fine there, and doesn't work on the same place as a petrol turbo.

right,i have managed to get myself a haynes manual and by looking at these pics. there is an EGR pipe that goes to the exhaust manifold which goes up to the inlet manifold (secured by 2 bolts). Could it go inbetween there wiv a T piece? or there is the Vacum Regulator Valve which is connected to the Fuel inj pump, now also there is a Vacum delay valve which is fitted in the vacum line. now i was wondering wether to put it in there with a T piece as its the vacum line.anyone got any ides or willing to try then get in touch and let me know what happens as i cant get to my car for a while to try it.
*sorry for no pics, have no scanner**

Run the plastic pipe through the bulk head and across the engine bay down
to the turbo. On the turbo itself there is a rubber boost hose on the right as
you look at it from the front of you're engine, this must be disconnected from
the actuator (this it a round metal thing with a bar coming off it) and then
the rubber pipe being fitted to the pipe for the boost gauge.

Found all this for you!

Why not Td after reading this i thought hummm....

The 1.5 TD engine is very underated, as it you can get GSi performance out of
it for only a couple of Quid, and still return 40mpg.

I have personally seen 180bhp out of a Corsa 1.5 TD, with charge cooler.

First you need to open up the air box on top of you're engine where the
original air filter sits. Here you will find the original dump valve. This dump
valve opens at exactly one bar of boost so if you up it then this needs to be
blocked off. You can unscrew this from the inlet manifold using a 32mm or an
adjustable spanner. You will have to have a blanking nut made in a local
machine shop, shouldn't cost you more than £20 max!

Once that is sorted you can go about upping the boost. Get you're self a boost
gauge, 2 bar boost gauge at least, fit this in the car (fit this where the
clock is. pic:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richar...ap/bapboost.jpg),
then run the plastic pipe through the bulk head and across the engine bay down
to the turbo. On the turbo itself there is a rubber boost hose on the right as
you look at it from the front of you're engine, this must be disconnected from
the actuator (this it a round metal thing with a bar coming off it) and then
the rubber pipe being fitted to the pipe for the boost gauge.

Next step is to adjust the fuel pump which is a bit of a fiddle on a nova cos
it is right under the inlet manifold. On the end of the fuel pump (this is the
opposite end to the cambelt) there are a few nuts and screws, but one of these
screws is covered by a metal cap. Remove this cap with a pliers. Then you will
need a deep 13mm scocket to loosen off the locking nut. once this is done start
the engine. If you find the engine won't start then turn the threaded bar that
the 13mm nut runs on IN to the pump. Once running you can adjust this threaded
bar in until it starts to bring the tick-over up. Take the car out for a test
drive and watch for black smoke, if there is a lot of it then turn the threaded
bar back OUT of the pump. Once you have found a satisfactory level then tighten
up the 13mm lock nut. This should have you running just over one bar and the
car should spin in 3rd on a wet day!!

You may have noticed that the nova does not have a intercooler, this holds the
cars performance back alot. The reason that the nova does not have one is
because there is no room as far as I can see, due to the huge TD rad. However
you could use a smaller rad off a GSi etc to allow routing of boost pipes.

You then have two chioces:

Charge cooler system (about £800)

Water injection system (about £300)

Both will reduce you're inlet temperature alot. The down side to these mods is
that they cost alot of money. Once you have fitted either or both of these if
you can afford it then there are several other further tuning options:

Fitting the turbo off a 1.7 cav turbo diesel with the same izuzu engine
gas flowing the head
over boring to 1600 cc
more pump adjustments can be made but it means taking the inlet manifold and
pump off.

With all these fitted you can expect about 170 bhp from you're car when running
2 bar boost but it will be a little unreliable as I have found it blows head
gaskets every 10,000 miles.

thanks for finding that out.
