rite last nite one of my back springs broke think about 2 to 3 coils snaped off!!!

gonna now put in a new set of springs and dampers casue the springs were 2nd hand anyway and my dampers wernt far from there grave either!

i got a price for the spax adjustable height and dampers for £320
and i got a price for apex springs and shocks for £250

i was told apex would possibly be a better drive than the spax as the spax can be very stiff!

what you guys think!! should i go spax or apex?? or is there any other brand you would recomend staying around that price mark of £350.

cheers

Spax are hard for a reason, when you reduce the amount of sus travel you have you need harder springs to stop the dampers bottoming out. While apex might be very comfy on smooth road i.e motorway spax are much better over the bumps.

Ive had about 6 suspension setups on my Corsa over the 4 years ive had it. I have the best possible setup now out of all ive had...

Corsa B 5 door Valver

Front - Harry Hockley/Bilstein insert Grp A Tarmac coilovers with 300lb spings lowered 50mm with TAS Grp A topmounts. (approx £750)

Rear - Spax RSX 28pt adjustable dampers with Spax 60mm springs. (approx £240)

Im going upto 40mm on the rear soon to see how that handles...

IMO the only prob Spax seem to suffer is rot...

But too soft a ride IMO - you get what you pay for. Gmax is the cheapest isnt it?
