counter-strike is still the best game, came out in 1999 still has over 20000 servers and 5 million ppl + playing it, its class!

I've got my copy... Finally installed it ... Ran it - runs fine (as in nice smooth etc, looks good) - however I have this problem at the moment (same with NFSU2) - that when I press keys or move mouse, it's slowing my pc down loads???

basically the game runs fine and then I move mouse (even on the menu screen which isn't even turning) just any movements or key presses = a slight pause and makes it stupid to play... same with NFSU2!

Anyone know what the prob is?

My pc is a 3000+ AMD 64 bit, with 512 mb ddr ram, 128 mb Radeon Pro, etc...

It's nothing to do with the game not running right, I think it's some problem with the mouse / keyboard input / output setup

Rob you can't be serious? It runs ok on your machine??? How much RAM do you have?

Also, for the guy thats having trouble playing, i'd get so more RAM if you can, bump it up to 1024mb!

I wish it was my spec that was causing the prob... then I'd just turn the detail down... but as I said its a thing to do with my mouse / keyboard...

Game runs fine at 1024x768 - if I turn it down to 640x480 this mouse problem still exists... I managed to get it to stop doing it on the keyboard by turning the repeat rate down... so I can move fine (forward - back, strafe left and right) with it running nice and smooth... however if I move the mouse - its jerkomania!

my pc installed it in abouut 3 mins not the 24 hours like yours LOL!

Fixed the problemo

Disconnected the mouse from the ps2 thing (using adapter? WHY) - and plugged it into the usb slot no more slow down ...

Problem is - got lectures now... should I stay or should I go? hmm...

Just curious to why some guys got it on download? Over CD copy?. I got it for £26.99 from gameplay.com delivered to my door this morning. No fucking about waiting for downloads, or verification and a hardcopy to backup maybe
