Get the slimline PS2, its seriously tiny. Makes you wonder why the other one was so big. £105 i think, something like that anyway.

i sold mine aswell and want it back! There's loads on eBay for sale, but the only thing that puts me off a second hand one is all the broken ones on eBay! Seriously they outnumber the working ones! Selling them slimoine ones for £115 i think, is it out yet then?

personally, i would get a new PS2 (not the slimline jobby) from shops before they run out of stock, as it will be cheaper and if its for the home then space is really an issue

although the slimline jobbies are nice, especially if there going in an install for the car (considering you dont need invertors etc) but there top-loading CD, which is a right git...especially for an install as you can box it in, or build around it. Its a shame that they made it too small, would rather it be alittle bigger, but have a cd loading tray...they could have even made a cd slot, which would have saved quite abit of space

i'd hurd it was small but that just takes the piss. its like the psone all over again only without the camp colour scheme. dont think i'd get one for an install tho i'd rather go for the silver ps2

its depends on your install - for starters the new slim line is easier to wire up as it only needs a 8.5v power supply, which is dead easy to get from 12volts. Plus its smaller, so you can place it anywhere. However, it does have to be easily accesible, in the install.

the old PS2 is a right git to get power to. You either have to use an invertor, which is a big no no for car power supply (as it causes spikes and interfearence etc), but if you dont go for that you need to a 12v PSU unit, which is about 60 quid and voids your warranty. However, you can mount it into your dashboard, or in your glovebox. And you only really need to provide access to the front panel, so you can build your install around it

its abit of a toss up really...but like i said it all depends on your install and design etc

Not its not. 8 or so screws, remove case, solder cable onto PCB, box back up. Job done can be powered by connecting 12v to cable
