mk1 golf gti, 1.8 ltr engine .strip it to redue weight, the handlings good even standard and thier really chuckable

what a waste of money, you could have just as much fun in something 1/3 of the price of those.

small bumper mk2 golf 16v u can pick up for under 1k easily

adjust the control pressure on the warm up regulator (a screw!) and your talking 150 - 155bhp on a bog standard engine. that will happily rev the nuts of itself all day long

also small bumper models have a better ECU than late big bumper models. late ECU's retard at high rpm's

plus they handle very well indeed

they aint heavy either, they only weigh 960kg's

only thing about 1.9 gti's is there aint much tuning capabilty with them as they are already well breathed upon on leaving the factory

great chassis though. mi16 conv would be the ticket
