When your engine is cold, do you encounter trouble with selecting 1st and 2nd?

I seem to remember my mate in his Mk3 Astra 1.4 8v Si having very simular troubles.

F13 box.

mine seems fine, when hot after been parked in traffic for ages done like 1st much or reverse but thats down to clutch

Yeah 1st is worse than second, its only while its cold.

similar faults in Corsa SXi (2001+) as i cant get the black C in to 2nd sometimes but then it goes in , vuaxhall can fix it though.

Yeah i did Ollie, also you can't get into 1st until the car has like stopped for 2 secs !

didnt have an SRi, but did have the same F13 box...

was a complete bziatch to get in 1st & 2nd when cold (really cold), but once warmed up was a bit better

changing the gearbox oil didnt really do a thing other than make it a bit quieter

it does it on my astra ollie wont go into 2 even if im going slow as 30 ish it needs work to go into 2nd

yes same as with all vauxhalls i have driven, however mine does go in, just a litle stiff

This happens to lots of cars its because the oil in the gearbox is cold i found this with my car and the works astra van, we put some synthetic gear oil in the van we had left over from a job @ work (im a mechanic) n this sloved the prob
