Something wrong with my car, when car is turned on it idles up to 3k rpm then slowly drops down again.

When you try to floor it, the pedal is really stiff.

Ive had the IACV off today cleaned that up but made no difference, it has got to be something wrong with the throttle body.

Can anyone help

air flow meter try giving that a clean, engine management light staying on at all when its doing it?

meebe the throttle cable is jammed sonwhere when you played with the icv

Try disconnecting the throttle cable from the TB and starting, then using the lever on the TB to rev the engine, if it works ok, then its a jammed throttle cable...

Do a diagnostics check on the ECU, or just do the paperclip test.

Try a different air mass meter.

WD40 all elecrical connections from the engines sensors - pay most attention to the air mass meter in this case I think.

Thats all I can think of at the moment...

Engine managment light

All inlet has been cleaned.

Something is wrong with throttle body Im sure

Ah read the first post again...

Definately try operating the TB using the lever on the side of it. It won't just stop working for no reason - most likely to be a stiff cable or jammed cable...

I don't think Nova dash boards have an engine management light Dave, especially C reg ones

thought with the engine transplant would of had some indications fitted to dash even using the corsa display. pretty obvious as ed said, diagnostics save messing around

only reason i say air flow is we had an astra in at work last week and that 2 on start up was revving high once cleaned air flow meter sorted it out

thought the air flow meter was wayyyyyyyyy too fragile to clean? Just a piece of wire in a housing?

Thats what I thought too - its normally sealed in between some mesh too so you cant touch the internals - it is either a piece of mesh, or wire, that is very fine. There is also a very fine bi-metalic strip in there that breaks easily...

nope its not too fragile2 clean its the large plastic t shaped piece

Revving to 3k rpm then dieing out?

Right with throttle cable take off throttle body it wont idle at all, with it back on it does the revving thing again.

Getting on my nerves this

did you try resetting ECU?
How long have you tried to drive through this prob?
