The diaphram in the throttle body is broken. Need to take it to pieces.

I feel like binning this engine and just fitting the C16SE.

Lee fancy doing it? Can get the engine for 100 quid.

1600 GSI engine,comes with all ancils,ready to fit, to include- Starter motor, alternator, inj system, K&N filter/ind kit, engine loom, ECU, air flow meter, exhaust manifold, clutch+cover, throttle+clutch cables, dizzy, plug leads+ign module. ENGINE HAS DONE JUST UNDER 10,000 MILES SINCE FULL REBUILD, has recently been removed from car ................................................£120

No, whats the point in me being raped by Vauxhall for a whole new TB which will probably cost me in excess of 200 quid when I want to put TB's on it next year.

I would have the X16XE rebuilt with TB's have it all powder coated and the engine bay re-sprayed before re-fitting it.

Get it done in 2 weeks, I want this 1.6 8v now.

£20 quid for the housing, bloke said it could be something to do with a switch on the other side of the IACV

FPMSL

Fixed it

It had sucked the sock into the throttle body and it was keeping the butterfly half open and half closed.

Had to take off inlet manifold, so happy. As long as I can get a bracket made up for the alternator I shall be at Trax in it.
