Not fun the first time... Got pissed off cos I couldn't get the balljoints out - cuth the fuckers in half. Broke my angle grinder, one of the castle nuts is seized and I can't get the bloody hubs off, even though I have a hub remover - this just seemed to push the driveshaft off... Damn.

i cut the balljoints off my old 1.4 when i was removing the engine, but I didn't have a splitter...

Didn't remove the hubs tho, just pulled out the driveshafts & dropped the engine (literally)

Balljoints? Use a Fork type crowbar in conjunction with a big hammer

As for the driveshaft nut, do not strip the thread, or you'll be there for an hour hammering at the driveshaft.

All I need to do now is undo the gear linkage and the castle nut on the passenger side. Both of them a seized! But thne I can undo the engine mounts and rip the bloody lump out - I know those bolts wont be seized, as the ayre covered in oild from all the various leaks all over the place...
