Has anyone tried buying them from germany???

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44156&item=7901601368&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The highsports are £296 and i asked the guy about delivery , he said 30 euros and a week - 2 weeks....

Worth the risk????

Ah so still be a bargain?

How does the paying of the VAT work? Will customs hold it till u pay or might it get thru?
Will the bill for VAT come in the post?

Anyone bought anything like this before?

Unless you can sweet-talk the company on the other end to pack it up like a present or something, for all they know they could be family over there!

It worked for me getting some computer parts imported from the states!

If you find someone willing to send it as a gift then you may get away with VAT. Don't forget you've also got to change your money somewhere - this cost me £20 when I bought stuff off eBay.de, you've also got a little bit of risk and a very difficult returns procedure.

There have been a few people had small problems with these and you'd need to be absolutely sure they were suitable as the UK retailers probably won't be too interested if they didn't supply.

If you want a better price then I may be able to sort something but it won't be that cheap.

If you pay tax on it in another country AFAIK thats it done you don't need to play VAT when you bring it into the UK - all part of the EU

Mine had to be a bank transfer Myke, was a private sale, not sure how it works with CC card.

Pete - even better if there are a few people, how definate are you - the discounts won't be massive but certainly cheaper as a one-off special thing.

If anyone else is interested, reply here.
