that monaro is lush, but 380 bhp from a 5.7l v8 isnt a great deal considering bmw get 330bhp from a 3.2l v6,doesnt the monaro have bags of tourque though?

the 5.7L engine can be produced in various power puts. also it'a very old design. the engien also don;t need to use revs to produce power either.

im not totally anti vauxhall, i am currently trying to convince my dad to buy a vx220 turbo over an elise, but i feel that there are better performance cars out there than vauxhall's hot hatch efforts

There are better cars out yeah.

Hard pushed to beat a VX220T for what its meant for though. MUCH better than the Elise as a standard model (i'd say better than these 190 models as well, with scope for improvment).

Wait for the VXR Version.

I do think vauxhall are tripping themselves up when it comes to the corsa. A gsi variant is such an obvious way to go, but where the hell is it?? a new facelift model as been released already. Perhaps its being planted into the next corsa facelift and to be labelled up as a VXR model too? who knows

no point building a car if it ain't going to compete in terms of price and speed. would need to be around 13k I recon cause go upto 15k you get the clio, CTR which are going to be bigger and faster with more power. the corsa 1.8sri is competing with the likes of the Ibiza FR, punto HGT, C2 GT etc. and it does seem a good buy considering the group 9 insurnace on it

and it is a good nippy car. Looks very nice with irmscher bits and that darkish blue colour like goldpenguins. If they were to release a VXR/GSi version, it would have to be pretty hot stuff to compare with the new breed of hot hatches like the 182, soon to be announced C2 VTS and others in the pipeline.

Corsa GSi wont come out until the Corsa D shows its face. For now the 1.8 model is the quickest.

some amount of silage spewed in this thread!

let me make a couple of points:

antscorsa - just give over or else make some sense

182, best hot hatch ever?? nah i dont think so it will never compete with 205 gti's

corsa gsi? as said would have to be cheap as always and lets face it, never gonna match up to french hot hatches for speed.

vxr astra front wheel drive?? as i stated before in another thread why oh why did they not do a 4wd or rwd for this?

kerzo, the astra H GSi is NOT going to be the range topper. Vauxhall are looking at a twin turbo diesel and petrol units, that could quite possibly come in 4WD form.

the monaro is out there alreayd in oz!
Its a great looking car and is basically a 3 door holden HSV! the sound these things make is incredible. A friend out here in oz has a holden UTE - pickup with the 3.5 v8 basically a 350 chevvy lump in a pickup with buckets and air con and full bodykit! This is his work horse! They retail at $40,000 and is hell of a car for the cash!

Also is the new sleek looking honda integre type r out back home??
