ive been havin this heated discussion in dt for many weeks now while building my sub box unit install and he reckons i should have it ported as the pressure will be too much for the box but in haynes and on here i thin it jus shows a sealed box with wadding in.

so for a 12inch xplod sub should it be ported or not and should it have wading in aswell.

sealed is more punchier and catched bottom notes better.ported has longer flat notes.sealed is the better option

if your into you dancey type stuff then go for the sealed box

ports are for the low low notes.. TBH the Sony Xplod subs aint gonna blow any box apart (unless its made from cardboard)

dont worry bout that, i had a 10" xplod sub and it struggled to make any bass let alone breaking the box up.

A 12" sub would be fine.. even my 15" keeps up with dance music.. even up to Gabba (just about)

But it loves the low n slow bass
