Plenty of LET corsas/cavvy's/calibras have it and they seem to be sellin well
the LET never came as fwd standard, even with a good lsd you are gonna struggle for traction due to the huge surge of torque when the turbo spools up, how many times have you heard people say they put a LET into a corsa or nova then say the wheels spin right up to 3rd gear??

I don't know if there's any way of developing that much power and not compromising drivability short of defying simply physics.

yup me too venom, i hear 220bhp is maximum through a FF car?
And im sure even if your power figure is over that, then just get used to driving your car diffrently and stop trying to go round corners with you foot to the floor
FR cars do handle better but cost alot more and they also have their handling woes too.

There's no point in Vauxhall producing a super-hatch version of the Corsa. Yes it will be nice for us lot but will be bought by about 1% of the people on here. Other people buying will be those with too much money that when they buy a runaround for her indoors, they just buy the model with the highest OTR price and tick all the extras.
The market we want them to compete in isn't a money maker. There's no point throwing away money on a class of car that's best suited to short trips to supermarkets. Vauxhall can't make a cost-effective "hot" hatch any more. They'd need to compete with the build quality of Citroen, Renault, etc and they're not likely to lower their standards
Best thing they can do is to concentrate on the Astra platform and maybe keep changing the headlamps in the Corsa every 18 months or so.

Exactly. Vauxhall need to build a car that will sell on mass-market appeal. Making a car that's twitchy under acceleration isn't the way to do this.
The Focus RS is a lively drive and great for those who constantly drive over 4,000 rpm but a little too much for Mr and Mrs Joe Public.

Drive my Astra, you'll soon agree. It'll spin in the first three gears and shake the crap out of your passengers on anything other than a completely virginal surface.
I needs and LSD at the very least, which compromises drivability anyway. That Corsa GSi feels like it has one in comparison, but it's actually just a good match of engine power to tyre size - it'll pull itself out of a corner without lighting up!
Not as quick on the straights, but a damn sight easier to drive!

This is true joff, would be great for people to be able to get a car like this from Vaux, but then who would spend like £13k on it? We build our own anyway.
They wouldnt sell enough to make money. If they upped the price who the hell would spend £20k on a corsa
