James - managed to track down someone who supplies good quality lightweight tailgates in FG. U2U me if you want more info

BTW - those sound deadening pads weigh about 10kgs; If you fit an Odessey Battery, you'll save another 9kgs from the engine bay. FG bonnet is a good move, but apparently it's doors that weight a ton!

Fibreglass doors do dramatically reduce weight - but NEVER replace your standard doors with these UNLESS you have a proffessinally fitted weld in cage with X door bars.

If you dont do this then you will certainly loose limbs or die in a side impact.

you have definatly got to get rid of all that tar matting, its a right pain in the ass to do and it looks like there is a hell of a lot more of it in the corsa then there was in my nova.

Looking good though right up my street

Why have you got an arial but no radio, lol.

If you get lightweight buckets they you can save at least 10Kg's, save even more and have it as a single seater

You can lose a lot of weight still from the doors. Those door bars are 3mm thick!

I'm having the engine loom replaced later this month and the battery will be sitting behind the passenger seat (about the lowest place for it)

Andy your better off mounting the battery on the passengers side of the boot next to the wheel well to balance out the weight to the rear (as you have your fuel filler neck on the drivers side)

And the passengers seat is mounted as far back and as far down as possible as they dont need to see, plus it lowers the centre of gravity.
