Looking at the road (straight by look of it, junction not far down), condition of tyres, marks on road...

guessing he came round the junction at some speed, lost it (no grips), side-swiped the tree

he was at speed, swerved to avoid somthin (possibly a cat) that run out infront of him, uput the car in a skid. he tried to counteract the skid and the AYC tries to counteract him, meanwhile car head across the road and towards the tree

Very very nasty. No douby if anyone else was in the car they would be dead or on a life support machine

i wouldnt have swerved i wudda just hit brakes and hoped for the best
