What does 'all in' include?
Do u literally turn up to whoever is doing it with £1500 and thats it? Nothing else needed at all?
Also what are the chances of a 21yr old with 0ncb getting insured?

Just curious................

for £1500 that would be the engine changed and running i would think and that would on the cheap

but yer gonna need yer brakes and suspension upgraded or that car wont handle with the extra weight of the engine nor will it stop

its a vicous circle once u change one thing u have to change loads of other things

although it would be well worth it if u can insure the mother

I'd pay £1k for insurance. I mean does the £1.5k include brakes and suspension or just engine, fitting, and new shafts and whatever else is needed?

I'm thinking about getting a conversion done for my 21st b'day.

For £1500 you:

Drive in with you car and engine as it is, and then you drive out with a 2.0L fully installed and running and therefore any conversion kits hubs etc would be in as they are neede to operate a 2.ol in a corsa, then obviously brakes and suspension would be down to yourself and further funds to under go

Correct me if im wrong anyone

Thats what i was thinking CheekyCorsa. Brakes and suspension are both easily sorted. Its looking more and more tempting, or should i say affordable.

Brakes are cheap enough either 2.0L brakes or V6 Brakes £250 maximum and you can buy 2.0L springs from Courtney etc, but coilovers would be best(i think)

Insurance is the only big obstical(sp) i was gonna do it as got V6 brakes and coilovers but HIC wanted £1400 extra onto of the £965 ive already payed, so it will have to wait a year

Oh im 19 with 1yr NCB and 2 accidents, so you might be Ok down to different insurers at the end of the day

Funds won't be a problem, the only real hurdle is insurance but i'll be 21 with no points and no claims but zero NCB as i;ve been under my dads name. 3 years 3 months driving experience by then too.

£500 is a lot for a 20xe.

If u want sombody to do it for u it usually involves u sourcing the parts inc engine, box, loom, shafts + hubs etc and delivering the whole lot to whoevers doin it for u

yea you could pay someone to fit it for yea but you could also face the challange yourself and get yea own hands dirty which is what I opted for (with the help of a good mate or 2)

Gives a good sense of achievement even tho i have 1 little problem left to solve thats stopping my engine runnig right but i dont think anyone has to worry about anything similar happening because the problem im having no one seems to have ever experienced at all hahaha.... o well all good fun and will get there in the end

this is right, brakes i normal pay extra for the engine (thats why there 500) and get a set of 2lt 16v brakes thrown in.
as for suspetion just a set of lowering springs is fine

turn in friday and then by sunday morning u can drive home in a 2lt 16v corsa

engine crain and 2x 2ton trolly jacks
lower engine out or car
lift both side of corsa up on trolly jacks
slide old engine out
slide new engine in
lift and mount engine
done
