Ok I'm looking to get my ICE on the move soon and just wondered what the benefits and problems of removing the rear seats and putting a funky ICE install in. What are your opinions on this?

I've spoken to so many people about this and all but two people said I should remove the rear seats. But I'm not sure! Wot do u all think?

Yeah go for it luv. The only main problems are:

People looking in the back (get tints )
making it look tidy (get a pro to fit it all )

It does give you an open area to make a 1 off piece of "art"

just check out mine and bravogirl's (my g/f)

We both have the seats out, she has gone for a real crazy install, i have gone for a more simple one.

Tis up to you ma darlin. Whatever you choose will be great. BUT i say get rid of em

Garage
Build it yourself, great fun (Except when you make the stupid mistake of fitting it all then it dont work, so u have to take it all out again, test it all the find the problem, then fit it all again )

I've got tints already! haha!

Neil C- I've got 6x9's And this is why I'm *considering* stripping the rear seats out- think of the better sound quality u could get without them and some othe loverly speaker types instead!

Daimo B- I don't want BIG ICE as in huge. I just want it to look nice and neat and if I don't take out the rear seats I feel it may be a bit too 'compact' u know? Have u taken ur rear seats out then?

Any one else got an opinion too?

I took mine out for a while when i first got the 2L... but it became soooo annoying only having enough room for one passenger that I put them back in...

I think you can still do a nice install with the boot only (like Donna's) and the car looks classier with your nice leather retrim anyway...

Um with the 18's I wouldn't take more than 2 passengers anyway. And u can still have an ICE install trimmed in leather etc with the seats stripped out.

That's what one of my friends said actually! Go mad and rip everything out! Hmm...

I just don't know! The good points and bad points are about even really... Wot about sound quality then? Will this be affected/enhanced etc with/out rear seats??

u need to put a load of gear in to justify removing the rear seats - it looks gash when there is just a huge expanse of unused space in the back - unless you are going rally slag, and by the fact u are getting ice it is clear that you are not - i'd say keep the rear seats or get 10 subs - easy really

jill i would leave them in yours, as you have a leather retrim,
i think leather insatll in the boot matching the seats such as donnas is just the bolox! looks more classy
but if you have buckets upfront then go for the ice like snowys car!!

Benifits - Looks much much better, more racer type, more room, looked better with ice, looks better without ice and just false floor, lighter, plus u aint a taxi anymore

Cons - can only have 1 other person in the car.

If we were to do Donna's car again the rear seats would come straight out!

Its all about taste. If thats the look you want for your car then take the seats out if not then leave them in. I personally would take them out, put a nice roll cage in and a mad install but thats me
