My phone seems to have a really shit battery life.. what's everyone else's iphone like?
I gave mine a full charge last night;
Put it in the dock at 8pm and took it out at 6.30am... looked at it at 11am and I'm down to 48%
I've only made 2 phone calls (10 mins each).. bluetooth turned on during my journey to work (30 mins). 30 mins listening to music and 10 mins browsing in safari
Personally I think that's crap... and the most annoying thing is that you can't change it for a new one without pulling the phone apart.
Where do I stand with this? Can I take it to Apple or O2 and ask them to swap it for me?

I have got a charger at work.. but surely phones these days shouldn't need charging twice a day FFS

I remember having a Nokia that used to need charging every 3rd day and it got used loads

I'll check the screen brightness, cheers tomtom

I turned aload of stuff off on mine coz I had the same problem. Now I only have to charge it every few days.

Turn the brightness down.
Turn off wireless, 3G and touch notifications.
Minimize use of location services.
Turn off push mail.

That should do the trick

Mines been on standby for 24 hours and usage is only 20 mins and my battery hasn't gone down at all.

You want a simple phone, buy a 3310 tbh.

I use mine loads been on the phone a couple of hours been on facebook and texting for the past 4 hours aswell as having my mail box update every hour and I've lost 20%. Bluetooth uses loads of battery when I have it connected to my Parrot but hey that's the joys of having a phone that does much more than just be a phone.

I charge my 3GS near enough every day. Start off at 100% in the morning then will be on about 20-30% by about half 10-11 at night.

I do use it quite a bit for various things though so its to be expected and have bluetooth, push notifications etc. on all the time. No point in having the features if you dont use them.

i see where youre comin from, but phones these days do so much more than they used to. give it a few years fotr battery technology to catch up and you'll be able to use it none stop for a couple of days between charges.

i found summat on apple website that said charge it up fully first time around as this dictates battery performance going forward.

ive been using one for a few months and charge it every other day.

Hence why products with rechargeable batteries come with pre-charged and cycled batteries in 99% of all cases.

The battery life on the iPhone isn't amazing though. But in my case that's comparing it to an old Nokia that only made phone calls. I've found that having it hooked up to my Exchange account has worsened it though.

I usually get a day of use between charges, sometimes it hits red before the end of the day though. My phone is 18 months old though, have bluetooth, wifi, 3G on all the time and exchange push.

Got a Mophie Juice Pack now, so can recharge on the go.

Li-ion batteries don't know if it's a first charge or a million and first charge.
