Im 19, 2years NCB, 0 offences or claims and my current insurance on my 1.6 sport is £1150 with a car club discount. It took a lot of shopping around and phone calls to get it that low in this time of reccesion.
I decided to get a random quote on go-compare(there never any good but you get a rough idea of prices) for a Astra Coupe 2.0Turbo. Cheapest quote was £1274.96 I couldnt belive it. The corsa is group 10 and the astra group 15. And if i actually phoned around i reckon i could get it much cheaper as internet quotes are always more expensive. I personally think this is very very cheap, ive checked to make sure ive entered all my details correct too.
Has anyone else had any pleasantly suprising quotes?
Mite buy one if i could afford too lol.

An astra coupe turbo isn't worth much more than a corsa.
Engine sizes and insurance groups mean a lot less than people think, it's down to the individual car.

Ring around first mate, I got a few cheap qoutes for the Gsi before I got it, got all excited then when I rang the companies up they asked what my previous car was (Astra Van) and then wouldn't insure me or they added a couple of grand to the qoute, so don't take the qoutes as serious.
Im also 19 2 years ncb, 0 offences etc and finally got insured with Brentacre, I tried qoutes on confused and gocompare and as soon as the qoutes came through they rang me and pretty much told me they where not going to insure me and the online qoutes are not always 100%
So if you really do want an Astra Coupe Turbo then give the companies a ring before hand, and if you do go with Brentacre I got on a modified car policy with them which made it cheaper so it helps if you plan to modfiy the vehicle or it has some sort of modification before you get a qoute with them
