Hi,

I am living in a rented flat atm. I have some bits and pieces that I would want covered for damage and theft when I am out and about including being stolen from home.

£2k's worth of camera gear, iPhone, computer, netbook and TV's etc etc.

I have got a quote from Endsleigh for £155 for the year. Does that sound ok?

Whats the mobile insurance like on these policy's?

I've got a meeting tomorrow with Abbey bank about contents. They said it would be around and about £100 for a 2 bedroom flat in my area.

Maybe its worth booking an appointment with the bank.

They just said that general items worth under £1000 don't have to be viewed, but things like paintings and lenses for cameras etc have to be valued if they're over £500.

It sounds like a much cheaper way of doing things.

O2 want £10 a month for iPhone insurance!

So for that price I can insure everything I own

Ours is £20 a month for both buildings and contents - think its upto £50k contents insurance... so around £100 a year

I'm looking into this too. Just bought a house with a mate. We want to get a joint policy but most of the websites don't have an option for us to get it together? We have a joint mortgage but most insurance companies require us to be sausage jockeys?

Don't you live in a flat / maisonette? The freeholder (is that a word?) will have the buildings insurance, you don't need it as well I think?

Get buildings and contents insurance together with the same company, could save you alot of hassle if you ever have to make a serious claim!
