Just passed my test, yay, went to change my insurance with quinn direct.
£650 more because i have a full UK now     
I really, really cant afford £1600 a year, surely it cant go up £600 for passing

Your using the car more often now and on your own? They probably see you as more of a risk now so sounds about right. I find Turbo Diesels are dearer to insure anyway!

yes my sisters went up from 750- 1000 with quinn direct.
£1600 quid aint bad at 17 though on a group 5 car.

this is what happened to someone else i knew.
but he never got a new certificate of insurance saying he was full UK instead of provisional.
im thinking if he crashes quinn will no pay out.

they did the same with dan-h on here as well, went up from £1200 to £1700
shop around, find a better deal then cancel the policy with quinn.

they did this to me went up 120 odd quid, tell them to gtf and go on elephant, do a new quote and add 3 older people to ur policy as named drivers (brings it down a bit!!)

when i first got my insurance with quin was 1400 and i asked two different people when i passed if it would go up both said definatly not. Then when i pass ring up "o ur insurance is an extra £600 now" bastards
got a quote for £900 in june which is nice

I was with direct line before I went with quinn, was paying £1500 with direct line, went with quinn which was £900, and when I passed that went to £1500 tpft with all mod's declared.

Tbh you must of expected it to go up. Why didnt you factor that in? Or got a quote on the car for when you had passed your test to give you the real cost.
You couldnt have thought that your insurance was going to be £1000 for a group 5 car at 17 could you?

How the fuck do you all get quotes like this ?
When i was 17 my first car was a nova gte and i was only paying £1100 third party fire and theft.
And to be honest i wouldnt pay a penny more that that ever.
