I was thinking of painting my taillights using chassis black and with a compressor powered gun. Am i right in thinking it will be too thick for the light to shine through?

proberly will be too thick, ive just recently spray tinted my rear lights with about 6 coats, they look really smooth and subtle, and the light is still clearly visible through the lense !!! that was using savage tail light tinting spray
