Hi,
I have only just joined as I don't actually own a corsa. However my mum has one and the handbrake cable broke last week.
I replaced it and everything seemed to go fine however it is extremely loose, so loose that tightening the adjuster plate makes no difference. Can I check is the adjusted plate supposed to just 'hang' freely? Or is it supposed to be attached?

When you pull on the handbrake there are huge amounts of movement just on the black outer casing.

I also tried to pump the brakes and make sure they are set but they didn't get stiff like they should do. Could there be another problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Stuart
