Hi guys, New to the site and could do with a little info if anyone could be so kind?
I'm picking up an X reg Corsa tomorrow on the cheap as a project. It's a 1.2 16V with a screwed engine.
I've heard something about 2 chassis types, Is this true and if so how does it effect fitting a bigger engine?
I used to have a C20XE in my old Astra GSi and loved the pull of it over the X20XEV in my Cavalier now. At the minute i'm unsure of which ebgine to go for out of the 1.4, 1.6 or 2.0 16V engines?
Any advice on the Corsa in general and difference in cost and work involved on fitting the engines I have in mind?
Thanks
Terry

Is it a lot more work and parts needed for the 2ltr over 1.6 as it wasn't intended for the Corsa It'd be XE and not XEV though, They dont compare in my eyes.

bolting an engine in is bolting an engine in, its neither any harder to fit a 1.6 or a 2.0 to a corsa these days. obviously all parts for the 1.6 into a corsa can be bought like exhaust sections etc compared to having to get things joined for a 2.0 and do a bit of wiring. plus shafts are needed aswell as mounts, and gearlinkage modified.

And I suppose there's a wealth of knowledge on fitting the XE nowadays as so many have been done.
Out of interest are you the same muppetsport who had his engine shafted by a poorly coated rocker cover?
